27MAY2010 @ Helena, MT - I've now been back a week and my sleep is returning to the old patterns. I retire after Jay Leno's monologue and awaken early. Sometimes it is so early that I watch 30 minutes of the all-night news on ABC then get back in bed.
I am still getting accustomed to eating more than on the river while trying to hold back. I lost maybe 25 pounds and it is enjoyable being a bit smaller. As of today I have not yet gotten my blood test results to ascertain if my cholosterol medecine dosage can be cut back ... as weight loss sometimes can mean.
Felomina and I have decided to motor out to North Dakota beginning on June 3rd. The plan is to depart late on the 3rd and get to Fort Benton. The next day we will go up through Havre, visit the Bearspaw Surrender Site near Chinook and get over to Fort Peck for the evening and night. We will probably contact Eric Langen and invite him for supper. Saturday we will get over to McKenzie Bay, stopping briefly at the Brockton Laundromat, the hotel at Culbertson and probably Fort Union. Saturday afternoon we will affix the canoe onto our boat rack and enjoy the company of Ken and Jean DeLap. Sunday morning we will head back, stopping early at the Tobacco Gardens Resort for breakfast. We may stop at Richey to meet Scott Carlson and/or the Pitzens but we plan to be in Grass Range for the evening and night. Monday we would make our way to Helena; we may dally at Grass Range since it is such a wonderful place.
