12MAY2011 @ Ft. Yates, ND - The canoe is at Ft. Yates, I am a bit north of there at the Prairie Knights Casino. At 0900 I hopped the bus (854-8090) that took me to Bismarck. At only $5 and delivery right to the door of my choice, I doubt a better travel arrangement exists. By 1030 I was at the Rimrock Trailways station, ticketed to Helena and strolling north to the Oasis truck stop. After a fine lunch I, looking for an internet hot zone, made my way across the road to the Ramada Inn where Dee LaMartin, formerly Dee DeBell, is the manager. I am using David Miller's "The Complete Paddler" as a travel guide and he writes about Ms. DeBell. She was at the time of his travels the manager of the Southport Marina and she remembers Mr. Miller quite well. She had not, however, known that her name was in print ... showing her that was fun for both of us.

At 1645 the bus departed and by midnight I was in Billings. It was a very pleasant ride ... I even slept ... no cold breeze from the NW to deal with.
