2JUNE2011 @ Bismarck, ND (me) and near Mission Ridge, SD (canoe) - I slept about ten solid hours last night. How rested can one person be? Outstanding!
Arriving at the Bobcat site at 0930 I was struck by the smaller number of volunteers from yesterday. According to those who know, the site was essentially a party last night with folks filling bags well after midnight and that has a lot to do with less people being there now. My suggestion: believe the party -do NOT believe the connection. I spent the morning alternating between holding a bag, setting filled bags on pallets and shovelling. At noon I visited the Ruth Meiers home and ascertained that I would be provided a bunk at midnight if I wandered in at that time. Back at the Bobcat site I felt woozy, so I lay down in a shady spot and even slept. Later I did as yesterday and went with a trailer full of sand out south of Bismarck where a jovial crew of about 20 were energetically piling sand bags and thoroughly enjoying the effort. I made two trips to that home then ended my day, it being 4PM. By 2100 I had completed supper, verified the bus schedule and was watching the NBA finals in the lobby of the Ramada Inn. In six hours I leave here and in 7 hours Felomina arrives ... umm umm umm.
