9JUNE2012 @ Clemson, SC - At 0930 Walt, mom and I were at the Rowing Team's headquarters looking for my photo-op with the team. A large crowd was there engaged in a community long-distance swim. I found no team nor any coach, though the shells' shed was open. I left a note expressing my surprise and we left. I think my ego about getting such a picture got ahead of reality ... I will do fine without it.
At the Visitor's Center we attended another class of 1944 reunion activity. Basically it was a "sit in the building you built" session that included a film as well as the class members once more expressing themselves and tossing out stories about how it was "way back then". The film is the same one seen by prospective students before they begin a guided walking tour of campus. Our nephew Nathan is scheduled to see the film and do the walk this October. I was struck with a fact presented in the film, that 97% of the Clemson students are happy, an inordinately high number and clearly a meaningful selling point to prospective students.
I know I'm happy.

Well, 6:30AM no clouds, kinda chilly, but a good Farmers' Market and govern or's cup day. Off to NV on Friday. My adventure not as tedious and waterful as yours, but just what I need, visiting friends, giving talks, painting pictures and digging opals.
