21April2010 - I awoke in Grass Range, fixed coffee, turned on the weather channel and started catching up on the blogs. by 1030 I had all the 1APR through 20APR blogs done. Deb then took me to the Mercantile and truck stops where I resupplied ... and got the SPF 45 for sun protection. Back on the highway I hitchhiked for over an hour (Hey folks I am freshly shaved, wearing a red/white/blue shirt and holding a paddle ... where's the problem anyway?) and then Don Korf picked me up. Don is a Grateful Dead and Pittsburgh Steelers fan complete with a Deadhead T-shirt and - I cannot make these things up - a van. God Bless him. We had an enjoyable 40 mile ride north to the river, all the while noting the extremely strong wind from the SE ... occasionally pushing us a bit into the southbound lane. Don's son is going to "walk on" with the Washington Huskies football team this August. Love those Huskies helmets and stadium. Maybe Don's son can help get the team back on the winning side.
Back at the Kipp Recreation Area I managed to paddle about a half mile down to the boat launch area. God says to take a day off on occasion and the SE wind agrees. I settle in for a relaxing, breezy day.
