8JUNE2012 @ Clemson, SC - Early this morning I visited the nurse at Clemson Downs in order to get my blood drawn as was done in Hermann. She directed me to Clemson Urgent Care and at 0900 I was there expressing my wishes and filling out papers. At 1100 I left, having had nothing done. I was extremely disappointed; there I was with my blood, communicating that I would pay my money (no insurance needed) and was not able to get it done. I'm not asking for a medicine dosage adjustment, just my blood's cholesterol numbers. So I can get this done when I return to Helena, but I sure would like to have a decent idea of the effects that my exercise has had on my cholesterol levels. The numbers I will get in Montana after another week will be better than nothing, yet I will always wonder what it may be closer to the canoe trip. I conclude that Walmart might want to expend their medical service to include this simple and sensible request.
Leaving at 1130 I picked up cousin Jed at Horton Racing and we both met brother Walt at the Greenville Spartanburg airport. It's always fun to talk with Jed ... and Walt, of course, is Mr. Special. All-in-all it was an enjoyable ride, returning to Clemson at about 1600. That was perfect timing to clean up and go out for an evening of Clemson reunion activities. First to the Madren Center to meet some distinguished alumni as well as lifelong friend Margaret Goodman and son Riggs ... they are distinguished, too. Second we attended the supper for the class of 1944 at the Alumni Cemnter. This was a catered meal and featured speaking from most of the alumni gathered as well as more than one wife. Dad is the class president, a role that somewhat carries over from his being the class secretary (treasurer?) while a student. Dad handlesd his duties well and all went home before bedtime. Tomorrow is another day.
